(Minghui.org) Practitioners from Denmark and neighboring countries rallied in front of Copenhagen’s Chinese Embassy on February 16, 2026, to protest the embassy’s smearing and intimidation of Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) and Shen Yun Performing Arts. The embassy had issued a statement on its website to discourage people from watching the world-renowned Shen Yun performance.
Shen Yun Performing Arts was founded in 2006, and the artists have performed in over 200 cities across 36 countries. Millions of people worldwide have attended the performances. Shen Yun Performing Arts vividly showcases the magnificence and wisdom of China’s traditional culture through classical, ethnic, folk, and narrative Chinese dance combined with music that blends Chinese and Western elements. It embodies universal values, and has earned the admiration of the people of Denmark and audiences around the world, and brought them beauty and hope.
The practitioners called on people from all walks of life in Denmark to help end the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) transnational repression and persecution within the Danish democracy.
In the past two decades, the CCP’s slander and defamation have often backfired, and instead became free advertising for Shen Yun, making more people aware of Shen Yun’s arrival, and encouraging them to enjoy the performances.

The CCP Spreads Hatred in Denmark
The Chinese Embassy in Copenhagen published a statement on its website in both Chinese and English on January 8, 2026, launching a hostile and wanton attack on Shen Yun Performing Arts and Falun Gong, a spiritual practice which is based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. The statement aimed to discourage Chinese residents and Danish citizens from watching Shen Yun performances.
Ms. Chen, a representative of the Danish Falun Dafa Association, addressed the rally, and said, “The actions of the Chinese Embassy have in fact interfered with Denmark’s sovereignty, democratic system, freedom, equality, and human rights. They have blatantly trampled on the very foundations of Denmark’s nationhood, and posed a direct threat to the security of Danish society.”
Chen said that by publishing the defamatory and slanderous statement the Chinese Embassy is attempting to impose its totalitarian methods on Denmark and the Danish people, to deprive them of their freedom to enjoy art by fooling and deceiving people, and inciting hatred in this peaceful and democratic country. “This is a criminal act,” she added.
The Chinese Embassy has tried to obstruct and sabotage Shen Yun’s performances in Denmark for years. In 2008, under pressure from the Chinese Embassy to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Shen Yun Performing Arts’ performance at the Royal Opera House in Copenhagen was abruptly canceled. Performances in Aarhus and Odense, Denmark’s second and third largest cities, have been repeatedly disrupted and sabotaged by the CCP.
The organizers of Shen Yun performances in Denmark recently received a threatening email that the sender would retaliate with the lives of the Danish Prime Minister and other high-ranking officials if Shen Yun did not stop performing in the capital. The organizers reported the incident to the Danish police.
Shen Yun Shapes Morally Upright and Socially Responsible People
The mother of a student at the Fei Tian Academy of the Arts, who was unable to attend the event in person, wrote a letter refuting the smear campaign and lies spread by the Chinese Embassy. In her letter, she stated that Shen Yun not only cultivates talent but also shapes morally upright and socially responsible people.
She wrote, “My child is currently an apprentice performer with Shen Yun Performing Arts. Three years ago, before entering Fei Tian Academy of the Arts, he was an insecure and uncertain teenager with no clear vision for the future. Three years later, the Fei Tian Academy of the Arts has nurtured him into a grateful, respectful, humble, and polite young man. He has become confident, cheerful, and full of love; he has become goal-oriented, persevering, and tenacious.
“Fei Tian Academy of the Arts also cultivated his most important abilities, self-discipline and independent thinking. In today’s society, many parents don’t know how to teach their children to become such people, and I feel immense comfort and gratitude.
“My child calls to greet his family on holidays and birthdays, and when he has the opportunity to shop during his internship tour, he always thinks about buying something for his family. He knows right from wrong and knows which behaviors in society are wrong and which ideas deviate from morality. He knows that art has no limits, so he learns humbly, is never afraid of hardship, and never complains. He is not addicted to social media or mobile phones because the rich and colorful campus life of Fei Tian Academy of Arts allows him to live in real interpersonal relationships in the present moment.”
Hoping the Embassy Staff Abandons the CCP
Speaking at the rally, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Bao first wished the embassy staff happy New Year. She said, “I would like to take this opportunity to advise you to stop before it’s too late, and not repeat the same mistake. I suggest you go and see a Shen Yun performance for yourselves. Audience members who have seen it say that it is a performance that you must see in your lifetime. The positive energy will really touch you, let you see beauty and hope, and also help you understand why the CCP is so afraid of traditional Chinese culture. It will also show you the true nature of the CCP.”
She hopes that the embassy staff will learn the truth, abandon the CCP, and become true Chinese, not followers of Marx and Lenin, which harm themselves and their families.
