(Minghui.org) Practitioners held an event at Commercial Bay Plaza in Auckland on January 31, 2026, to introduce Falun Dafa to the public. They demonstrated the exercises and taught them for free. They also told people about the Falun Dafa practice and performed a dragon dance.

Many people expressed interest in learning more about Falun Dafa, and talked with practitioners. They liked the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and felt the practice could benefit people.

Retired Principal: The Importance of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance

Roger

Roger, a retired school principal, watched the practitioners do the exercises, and said he liked the practice very much. He said the movements were gentle and he felt that practicing them could help people become calm and improve their health. He felt these were very important in today’s fast-paced society because people are under a lot of pressure.

The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are very important for society, school education, and the growth of children, he explained. When people are honest and treat each other with kindness and tolerance, there will be fewer conflicts.

Roger said that unfortunately, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) does not allow independent thinking or people to have a conscience, which is why it suppresses Falun Dafa and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Benefits of Meditation

Imogen Staines works near Commercial Bay, and said she was attracted by the scene of practitioners doing the exercises. She explained that meditating relieved her anxiety and helped her calm down.

Staines thanked the practitioners for introducing Falun Dafa to the public, and said that practicing could not only improve peoples’ minds and bodies, but following the guiding principles could help build a better community. She said she hopes to learn more about Falun Dafa.

Joe watched as practitioners did the exercises, and he talked with a practitioner. He said he liked to meditate every day and he felt that Falun Dafa was a profound practice.

He said that meditation can help people relax and can relieve stress. He feels Falun Dafa is positive and practicing can benefit people.

A Better Society

Cherie watched the exercises for about half an hour. She said the peaceful scene in the crowded city was impressive. She felt if more people could learn Falun Dafa and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the world would become a better place. This is especially important for the younger generation.

Speaking of the persecution in China, Cherie said the totalitarian CCP does not allow differing voices, and the suppression is wrong.
