(Minghui.org) The Shouguang City Court in Shandong Province sentenced three local residents on February 13, 2026, because they practice Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) since July 1999.
Ms. Sun Fumei, 58 a retired senior lecturer from the Weifang University of Science and Technology, was given four years and was fined 48,000 yuan. Mr. Li Shengxing, 65, a retired teacher of Shouguang First High School, was sentenced to three and a half years and was fined 42,000 yuan. Mr. Fu Jingchun, around 50, received three years and four months and was fined 40,000 yuan.
Ms. Sun and Ms. Li filed appeals with the Weifang City Intermediate Court. Weifang oversees Shouguang City.
On August 26, 2025, days before the CCP’s massive military parade scheduled for September 3, 2025, groups of plainclothes officers drove unmarked cars to arrest local Falun Gong practitioners and raid their homes. Numerous Falun Gong books and informational materials were confiscated from the homes of Ms. Sun, Mr. Li, and Mr. Fu.
Mr. Li and Mr. Fu were taken to the Shouguang City Detention Center. Ms. Sun was held in the Weifang City Detention Center. Prosecutor Zhao Qiang (+86-15065602990) from the Shouguang City Procuratorate indicted the three practitioners at an unknown time.
The Shouguang City Court held a hearing on January 22, 2026, and did not allow any of their family members to attend.
Judge Hou Xiuhua (+86-13792682919) issued the ruling on February 13, 2026.
