(Minghui.org) Ms. Jiang Lianhua, 46, who lives in Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province, was sentenced to four years for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) since 1999.
Ms. Jiang was arrested ahead of the CCP’s military parade on September 3, 2025, after she was reported for distributing informational materials to raise awareness of the persecution of Falun Gong.
The arresting officers from the Nanchang County Domestic Security Office ordered Ms. Jiang to admit “her guilt,” and threatened to sentence her to prison if she didn’t comply. She insisted that she did nothing wrong by exercising her constitutional right to freedom of belief.
Ms. Jiang is still held at the Nanchang City Second Detention Center. Her family recently confirmed her prison sentence, but details about her indictment, trial, or sentencing aren’t available. They aren’t allowed to visit her.
Ms. Jiang used to suffer from poor health and became even weaker after she gave birth. She had no strength to mop the floor, or do other household chores. After she took up Falun Gong in March 2014, she gradually recovered from her numerous illnesses, including back pain, angina, gynecological diseases, dizziness, and joint pain.
Having benefited from Falun Gong, Ms. Jiang tried her best to tell people that the practice was nothing like what’s depicted in the CCP’s propaganda. She was arrested in August 2020 for distributing Falun Gong materials and was sentenced to three years and three months. She was forced to do hard labor for hours while she was held at the Jiangxi Province Women’s Prison. She was released on November 21, 2023, only to be arrested and sentenced again.
