(Minghui.org) A woman in Changchun City, Jilin Province, has become extremely thin since she was admitted to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison in August 2025 to serve a three-year term for practicing her faith, Falun Gong.
The illegal conviction of Ms. Li Bing stemmed from her initial arrest on the night of May 15, 2024, by officers from the Nanling Police Station. They raided her home and put her in the Weizigou Village Lockup in Erdao District. She was interrogated 16 days later, and the police promised to release her as soon as she revealed where she got the Falun Gong informational materials that were confiscated from her home.
Ms. Li refused to comply and was transferred to the Changchun City First Detention Center (also located in Weizigou Village, Erdao District). She was released on bail after she was held for an unknown length of time, only to be arrested again in the middle of the night on July 14, 2024, by more than 12 officers.
A local court sentenced Ms. Li to three years, and she was transferred to prison in August 2025. According to an insider, she was abused and became emaciated within a few months.
