(Minghui.org) The Missouri State Governor wrote to local Falun Dafa practitioners to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day on May 13, 2026. The Senate and House of Representatives of the Missouri State General Assembly passed resolutions to commend the practitioners’ contributions.
Letter from Governor Mike Kehoe
Governor Kehoe wrote, “Falun Dafa - a traditional Chinese meditation and spiritual practice - has transcended cultural and national boundaries to bring better health and inner peace to millions around the world, including right here in Missouri. Its teachings, centered on truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance, resonate with the very values that we hold dear as Missourians.
“Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with Falun Dafa practitioners in Missouri. I’ve been struck by their sincerity, gentleness, and unwavering commitment to their beliefs - even in the face of hardship. Their quiet strength and peaceful spirit are a testament to the values they hold dear.
“As you celebrate World Falun Dafa Day, I commend your resilience, your dedication, and the positive contributions you bring to our communities. May this day be filled with meaning, unity, and reflection.”
Resolution from the Missouri State Senate
The resolution reads, “Whereas, the members of the Missouri Senate believe it is altogether fitting and proper to pause from time to time to recognize Show-Me State organizations that are dedicated to supporting cultural diversity in local communities; and
“Whereas, the members now pause to recognize the Missouri Falun Dafa Association, in celebration of the thirty-fourth anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction to the public and the twenty-seventh World Falun Dafa Day on May 13, 2026; and
“Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners and supporters throughout the State of Missouri will celebrate the annual event at the Missouri State Capitol with speeches, exercise demonstration, and special music; and
“Whereas, Falun Dafa, also called Falun Gong, consists of slow-moving qigong exercises and adherence to the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance; and
“Whereas, introduced to the public by Li Hongzhi in 1992, Falun Dafa is practiced in over one hundred countries worldwide and has been translated into forty languages: and
“Whereas, rooted in Buddhist tradition and five thousand years of traditional Chinese culture, Falun Dafa focuses on self-improvement and spiritual growth through disciplined practice, gentle exercise, and meditation; and
“Whereas, practitioners of Falun Dafa strive to achieve a sense of inner calm, optimism, and understanding, and have experienced dramatic health benefits. as well as newfound energy. mental clarity, and stress relief; and
“Whereas, Falun Dafa has transcended cultural and national boundaries to bring better health and inner peace to millions around the world, including Missouri, where the practice was first introduced in 1995; and
“Whereas, Falun Dafa volunteers throughout the state of Missouri offer exercise instruction and promote traditional Chinese cultural awareness at numerous community events:
“Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that we, the members of the Missouri Senate, One Hundred Third General Assembly, commend the Missouri Falun Dafa Association on its mission and offer our best wishes to the Missouri Falun Dafa Association, volunteers, practitioners, and supporters in celebration of World Falun Dafa Day.”

The resolution reads, “Whereas, Falun Dafa continues to benefit people around the world while its practitioners participate in various community events to promote traditional Chinese culture; and
“Whereas, World Falun Dafa Day will be celebrated on May 13, 2026, at the Missouri State Capitol:
“Now, therefore, be it resolved that we, the members of the Missouri House of Representatives, One Hundred Third General Assembly, join in extending our most hearty congratulations to Missouri Falun Dafa practitioners and supporters upon this very special anniversary event.”
