The anthropologist says he felt both “energy and serenity,” and praised “the dancers’ harmony.”

“Their physical performances are remarkable. One can only imagine the discipline required to reach such a level.

“The music is fascinating. It blends classical tradition with modern sounds, which is very interesting from that perspective. The choreography is truly remarkable.

“I was moved by the beauty, the inspiration, and the spiritual aspect,” Dr. Froment said.

While emphasizing that he is “secular,” he stated, “I have great respect for different cultures, and I am in awe of the history and mystique of Chinese civilization. I am discovering it with great interest.”

He also sensed “a great deal of kindness” in Shen Yun’s dance and song performances, because “harmony brings serenity.”

“There is harmony in the coordination of the dancers,” he explained, “and an otherworldly sense of being transported. We are transported to another place. It really is a beautiful experience!”

Beyond the artistry, Dr. Lorenzon said it was the inner experience sparked by Shen Yun that resonated deeply with her. When asked what that was, she answered without hesitation, “Peace, peace and serenity.”

“I respect religion, and this performance shows just how very, very important our religion is to humanity right now.

“I felt a connection with Buddha and with the present moment. This is a very, very important time for us.

“Kindness, compassion, sensitivity, and love. Love is very important to us right now,” she said.

One of her most memorable moments was the finale. “I was very moved, and I cried. I cried and cried.”

“I’m very happy now. I feel different now when it comes to love, religion, respect, and humanity.

“I invite everyone to come see this show. It’s wonderful,” Dr. Lorenzon said. “As for me, I’ve never seen a show or dancers like this in my entire life. You feel light, you feel good. It’s a comforting moment.”

Brazilian Theatergoers Voice Appreciation

This season, Shen Yun presented 12 performances in three Brazilian cities from April 26 to May 10: Curitiba, São Paulo, and Porto Alegre.

Mirian Andriotti and João Bosco (NTD)

Federal judicial official Mirian Andriotti and her husband, geriatric dentist João Bosco, saw Shen Yun in Porto Alegre on May 10.

“It was a wonderful experience,” Ms. Andriotti said after seeing Shen Yun. “The history of China, the traditional culture, and the dancing were all fantastic. Especially the final message of renewal and hope—it was deeply moving.”

Mr. Bosco said, “It came without fanfare, but it deeply won me over.”

“It’s a great message of faith in the divine,” Ms. Andriotti said. “Especially at the end, you feel that the true way forward lies within the divine in each one of us.”

Mr. Bosco said he was moved by the values expressed throughout the performance.

“In a world with so much war and so many difficult things happening, to hear such a beautiful and pure message is truly admirable,” he said.

“We’ve become used to seeing only negative things, but behind Shen Yun there is a message of kindness, love, and values that should be preserved. The media should speak more about these values, because all we hear about every day is murder and evil. But good things like this also exist in the world. Congratulations to Shen Yun!” he said.

After learning that Shen Yun artists face persecution for their faith, and that the performance still cannot be staged in mainland China, Mr. Bosco expressed admiration for the artists’ perseverance.

“The world needs this,” he said. “Difficulties exist for us to overcome them. In the midst of all this, they still carry a mission through this culture, bringing it back to life as an example for the world.”

He believes that the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are essential in today’s society.

“They are necessary for our society to survive,” he said. “At the end of the performance, I truly felt that these values still exist. I’m leaving here emotionally moved and strengthened by them. Spiritually and energetically, Shen Yun transmitted hope to me. I feel supported and more capable of defending these values. It’s like reading the Bible. Congratulations!”

Ms. Andriotti also expressed gratitude to the artists.

“Congratulations,” she said. “Please come back often. It’s truly moving to see you.”

Before leaving the theater, Mr. Bosco reflected on the experience one last time.

“We’re leaving here deeply moved,” he said.

I had never seen such a live performance of Eastern arts. It was also accompanied by a symphony orchestra throughout the entire performance. The performance was extraordinary, especially in presenting Chinese history, the persecution [of faith], etc.,” Ms. Tacaki said.

José Luis Sánchez González (NTD)

Mexican Congressman José Luis Sánchez González saw Shen Yun in Guadalajara on May 10.

He described the profound emotions he felt while watching Shen Yun, noting that the performance felt like a refreshing elixir for the soul, reminding him that spiritual pursuits are far more important than material things.

“Chinese (traditional) culture and art are breathtaking. Their dance, traditions, history, culture, and their connection to the divine—I found it all wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was magnificent,” Mr. Sánchez González said.

He believed that Shen Yun’s artists were “truly top-tier professionals.”

“Setting aside the regime or the government, what is more important is the ability, strength, creativity, and wisdom of the Chinese people, which have earned widespread respect and recognition. Of course, their culture is also impressive and dazzling,” Mr. Sánchez González said.

“Everything was extraordinary. The Chinese artists were outstanding—truly captivating. They possess such rich creativity, imagination, and a spirit of innovation. They are dreamers, aspiring toward heaven. It was truly remarkable.

“These are values I identify with. Although I, as a human being, still have many limitations and live under a capitalist system that instills negative values, I strive to put these into practice... I believe these values, expressed in Christian terms, are kindness, unity, love, service to others, mutual aid, and universal love. I wholeheartedly embrace these principles and values,” Mr. Sánchez González said.
