(Minghui.org) The case against Ms. Wang Xiaomei was returned twice, but the police refused to release her and even threatened to harm her child.
Ms. Wang is an elementary school teacher in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, was arrested at 7 a.m. on December 9, 2025, as soon as she stepped out of her apartment building. Officers from the Xinhua Police Station who were staked outside said they didn’t go straight to her home because they did not want to see any more accidents. Several Falun Gong practitioners fell to their deaths when they jumped out of windows to avoid being arrested for their faith.
The arrest took place after someone called 110 (equivalent to 911 in the U.S.) to report seeing Falun Gong informational materials in Gaocheng District, Shijiazhuang City. The Gaocheng District Police Department instructed the Xinhua Police Station to investigate and take action. The latter agency identified and tracked Ms. Wang down through surveillance videos.
The Gaocheng District Procuratorate issued a formal arrest warrant for Ms. Wang in January 2026. The case was returned to the Xinhua Police Station, which fabricated more evidence and resubmitted the case. A staffer from the Jinzhou City Procuratorate picked up the case file from the Gaocheng District Procuratorate on March 20. Jinzhou is under the administration of Shijiazhuang and is assigned to handle Falun Gong cases in the greater Shijiazhuang region.
The Jinzhou City Procuratorate returned the case to the Gaocheng District Procuratorate around April 22, 2026. After they heard what happened, Ms. Wang’s husband and lawyer went to the Xinhua Police Station to seek her release. The police chief denied their request and threatened to harm Ms. Wang’s child. He said, “I know what school the kid attends!”
Ms. Wang remains at the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center.
