(Minghui.org) A 66-year-old woman in Xuchang City, Henan Province is facing an indictment for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Ms. Li Shuhua, a retired worker, was arrested in early December 2025, while talking to people about Falun Gong, and her home was raided. She was taken to the Xuchang City Detention Center on December 15, where she remains. Her case now rests with the Weidu District Procuratorate.
This is not the first time that Ms. Li has been targeted for her faith in Falun Gong, which she took up in 1996 and credits for enabling her to become a loving wife and a caring daughter-in-law. She had previously been jailed three times, totaling ten years (July 2009 – July 2012, May 2013 – May 2017, and January 2020 – January 2023). She served all three prison sentences in the Xinxiang Prison, where the guards subjected her to various forms of abuse. Please see the related report for details of her suffering.
