(Minghui.org) A man in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province is facing prosecution for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Wang Yujie, 63, was arrested on January 6, 2026, after he was followed by some officers from the Heping District Domestic Security Office and Hunhewan Police Station. They took him home around noon to conduct a raid. They handcuffed him and kept him outside during the raid. No officers wore their police uniform, nor did they produce their ID's or a search warrant. His two computers, printer, office supplies, Falun Gong books, and informational materials were confiscated. His wife was forced to sign the confiscation list.

The police claimed someone reported Mr. Wang on December 28, 2025, that he had placed Falun Gong informational materials on car windshields. They detained him at the Heping District Detention Center and denied his family’s request to release him on bail.

Mr. Wang was issued a formal arrest warrant on February 13, 2026, by the Hunnan District Procuratorate, which has been designated to handle Falun Gong cases in the greater Shenyang region. Prosecutor He Mengyao, who has indicted numerous practitioners, was assigned to the case.

The police questioned Mr. Wang’s wife about his daily activities and how many times he went out each day. They submitted the case to prosecutor He shortly after, and the process of indicting Mr. Wang is ongoing. His family has hired a lawyer for him.

Prior to his latest ordeal, Mr. Wang had already served three labor camp terms. For filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party, for ordering the persecution in 1999, he was arrested on October 5, 2015, and sentenced to two years by the Heping District Court on June 15, 2016. He was admitted to the prison complex in Shenyang on November 24, 2016, and was fired by the Shenyang Railway Bureau.

While Mr. Wang was serving his first labor camp term, his father passed away due to the mental distress.

His daughter grew up in fear, and was often separated from him due to his repeated detention.

The mental pressure of the persecution also took a toll on his wife’s health. She suffered from a severe heart condition, high blood pressure, and diabetes. When Mr. Wang was home, her condition was usually stable. But each time after he was arrested, she would feel much weaker. During the latest police raid, she was terrified and kept shaking. She couldn’t fall asleep for days. Any knock on the door would terrify her.
