(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

7. [Xiangying County, Hunan Province] Ms. Liao Hong Detained in Guangzhou
8. [Dangshan County, Anhui Province] Five Practitioners Harassed
9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Qiongying Harassed
10. [Longyao County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Yunjiao Detained

1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Jing’s Trial Scheduled
Ms. Wang Jing was arrested on January 20, 2026. She was scheduled to appear in the Weicheng District Court on May 27, 2026.
2. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zuo Lizhi Detained
Ms. Zuo Lizhi was arrested in late April 2026, and is being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center. She has been issued a formal arrest warrant.
3. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Liu Qingyuan Missing for Three Years and Counting
Mr. Liu Qingyuan has been missing for three years.
4. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Peijuan and Ms. Zhu Rongping Detained
Ms. Wang Peijuan, 70, and Ms. Zhu Rongping, 66, were arrested at the Shilai Town Street Market in Xintai City on April 11, 2026, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong there. They were held at the Beishi Detention Center in Xintai City and later transferred to the Taian City Detention Center on April 27.
Both practitioners had previously been arrested in June 2024. Ms. Wang was soon released for health reasons. Ms. Zhu was sentenced to one year and released in June 2025.
Ms. Wang’s family was repeatedly harassed by Xu Chongjun, Zhao Feng, and others from the Daiyue District Police Department.
5. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Zhiping Faces Trial
Ms. Guo Zhiping has been indicted, and she is now facing trial by the Gaoyang County Court.
6. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Nan Minmin Still Detained After Serving Wrongful Prison Term
Ms. Nan Minmin was arrested on May 29, 2020, by officers from the Sungang Police Station. She was tried on March 25, 2021, and sentenced to five years and six months in prison. She appealed with the Shenzhen City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold her original verdict. She was admitted to the Guangdong Province Women’s Prison in late April 2023. Her prison term should have ended in November 2025, but she still hasn’t been released.
7. [Xiangying County, Hunan Province] Ms. Liao Hong Detained in Guangzhou
Ms. Liao Hong was arrested in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province on March 17, 2026, for distributing Falun Gong flyers. She is being held in the Zengcheng District Detention Center. She is experiencing high blood pressure, and has been forced to read and watch materials slandering Falun Gong. Her arrest was approved by the Zengcheng District Procuratorate on April 23, 2026.
8. [Dangshan County, Anhui Province] Five Practitioners Harassed
Five Practitioners, including Wu Suhuan, Zhang Linying, Li Ali, Zhang Shuhua, and Zhang Shujun, have been repeatedly harassed since mid-April 2026 by the police and community clerks. They forcibly took photos of the practitioners, and threatened to terminate their jobs or pensions, as well as those of their families. They revealed that the order came from the Dangshan County Political and Legal Affairs Committee.
9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Qiongying Harassed
Ms. Li Qiongying was harassed on May 18, 2026. Officer Lan Qingdong of the Huaqiao Police Station went to her home and her daughter-in-law’s shop in the morning, but didn’t find her. Lan went to her home again at noon, and took photos of her against her will.
10. [Longyao County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Yunjiao Detained
Ms. Yang Yunjiao was arrested at home on May 12, 2026. Officers from Longyao County said that she had mailed letters promoting Falun Gong, and they took her straight to the Xingtai City Detention Center. After the guards refused to admit her without a physical exam, the police took her to the Longyao County Detention Center instead.
Ms. Yang was unable to eat, and by the fifth day she was too weak to move. An inmate gave her some water. She choked and couldn’t catch her breath. The guards then called her family to take her home.
11. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yajun Released
Ms. Li Yajun was released on May 23, 2026.
