(Minghui.org) I had many questions about life before I started practicing Falun Dafa. I often wondered where I had come from and where I would end up. My grandmother told me when I was little, that there was a star above each person’s head, so I often looked up at night, searching for the star above my head, sometimes with tears running down my face.
I obtained the Fa towards the end of 1998, and was completely overwhelmed by the Fa principles explained in the book of Master Li’s teachings, Zhuan Falun. I found answers to all my questions and was determined to follow Master in Dafa cultivation to return to my true home.
I had an introverted personality, and since childhood I had always been reluctant to meet strangers. When I had to speak in front of others, my face turned red and my lips quivered.
After growing up and joining the workforce, people around me said I was unsociable, awkward, and not easy to get along with. After I started cultivating in Dafa, they all remarked how much I had changed, and that I was much easier to get along with.
When my family opened a small store, I thought that this would be my platform to clarify the truth to people to save sentient beings.
I clarified to truth about Falun Gong and the illegal persecution of the practice to everyone who came into our store. Some of them asked, “You’re such a nice person. Why did you get involved with this practice?”
“Falun Dafa has turned me into a new person, both physically and mentally, so I now always treat people fairly and honestly in running our little store,” I explained.Here, I would like to share some stories that happened at our business.
Story 1
One day, an old man came in to change the battery in his watch, so I replaced it and snapped the back of the watch on. The old man was very happy and left. He came back two days later, saying the watch back was missing and asked me to give him another one.
“But I snapped the watch back on properly when you left the store,” I explained to him. “I don’t care!” he said, insisting that I find him another watch back. I felt a bit uneasy, thinking, where can I possibly find another watch back? He lost it and asked me to find another one.
I then remembered the Fa principles Master explained to us in Zhuan Falun, so I said to the old man, “Don’t worry, grandpa. Let me think about what I can do. Well, how about I give you a new watch?”
I then showed him a new watch. He put it on and walked away satisfied.
I thought, “He is an old man. I shouldn’t let him worry over a watch. I can afford a small loss like this, as long as the old man is happy.”
Thank you Master for teaching me how to be a good person.
Story 2
On another occasion, after a customer left, I noticed a roll of cash on the counter. I hurried after him, but he said it wasn’t his. I tried to remember everyone who had visited our store that day, but no one claimed the money. My neighbor commented, “If you can’t find the owner, you might as well keep the money.”
Being a Dafa practitioner, I would never do such a thing. I noticed a business card for farming tools in the roll of money, so I put the card on the counter, hoping it would help me find the owner. I also left the money in an obvious spot on the counter.
One day, the mother of one of my daughter’s classmates came into our store, but I wasn’t there at the time.
“Why don’t you keep the money, instead of leaving it on the counter?” she asked my daughter.
“My mom said the money belongs to someone else, and we shouldn’t keep it,” my daughter explained to her.
She mentioned it to me later, and said, “You daughter is really honest. It’s not easy to be so honest in today’s society.”
I know it is all blessings from Dafa, which is having a subtle impact on my daughter, guiding her to be an honest and trustworthy person.
Two or three months later, a customer saw the business card on the counter and asked, “So, you also have a card for this business?”
“Someone left it behind. Do you also have a business card like this?” I asked him.
“I used to,” he said.
“Have you lost money before?” I asked him.
“Yes,” he said, and told me roughly how much he had lost in a roll of cash.
I was really pleased to have found the owner of the money left on our counter and returned the money to him.
He was very surprised, and said to me, “It’s been a long time since I lost the money, and I thought I would never find it again. Thank you very much! People like you who study Falun Dafa are truly different from others!”
Story 3
There is an elderly man surnamed Nie in our area. He is about 90 years old, from out of town, and is quite eccentric. When other practitioners clarified the truth to him earlier, he refused to quit the CCP. However, he often sat in the park, chatting with people, and gets on quite well with my father.
So, I tried to get closer to him by chatting about some everyday things at the beginning. Then I said, “Grandpa, at your age, you must have experienced all those political movements, like the ‘Three-anti Campaign’, the ‘Five-anti Campaign’, and the ‘Cultural Revolution’, right?”
“Yes, I’ve experienced all those and much more,” he said.
“The CCP has persecuted countless good people in its various campaigns, including people who practice Falun Gong,” I continued. “The Tiananmen Square Self-immolation was staged. Think about it, how could someone with severe burns possibly sit upright and yell out slogans? It defies logic and was clearly staged Also, Liu Chunling, who was reported to have died from his burns, was actually hit hard from behind by a man, as was clearly captured on camera.” I continued to clarify the facts to him, but he remained silent.
“The CCP has done so much evil and will be punished by Heaven. We ordinary people shouldn’t be impacted. You must have joined the CCP organizations like many others. Please quit them for your own safety,” I encouraged him.
“I’ve been a CCP member for over 60 years. I can’t quit it,” he said slowly.
I was very worried about him, but forgot to send forth righteous thoughts at the time. Being controlled by the evil beings behind him, he told me to go away. I felt very sad for him.
Due to the lockdowns during the COVID pandemic, I didn’t see him for over a year. After the lockdowns were lifted, I went to my mom’t place one day on my bike. At a turn, I looked back and saw an old man with a walking stick at the gate of the residential community.
It was grandpa Nie. I was already some distance away from him, but I suddenly felt great compassion for him. He has lived to such a senior age, just to be saved by Dafa. Master, please save him!
I turned around and rode back to grandpa Nie and greeted him. He nodded to me with a smile. “Please quit the Party, as I was talking about earlier,” I said to him.
Without hesitation, he said, “Okay. I quit it.”
I felt so happy for him and told him to remember, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He finally quit the CCP and chose a bright future for himself.
Thank you, Master, for your immense compassion and salvation!
Story 4
One market day, an elderly lady entered our store and thanked me for helping her recover from an illness, but I couldn’t recall what she was referring to.
She said, “Well, I had shingles a couple of years ago and the doctors said they were all over my intestines, and I needed to go to the hospital for surgery, but you told me that something else could help me.”
I then recalled that a few years prior, an elderly lady came to our store one afternoon, looking very miserable. I asked if she was okay, and she told me she had shingles and needed to have an operation to have them removed.
“Well, you can try to recite, ‘Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!’ Falun Dafa is a righteous practice of cultivation and it can rectify all that is unrighteous,” I told her, and also gave her a Dafa amulet.
“Just keep reciting the two phrases and it will help,” I reassured her and told her to keep the amulet with her at all times.
As this happened two years prior, I had forgotten all about it.
“Don’t thank me, you should thank Falun Dafa,” I said, and she replied, “Thank you, Falun Dafa! Falun Dafa is a righteous Fa! I still keep the amulet you gave me in my bag.”
