(Minghui.org) A woman in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, has been detained for three months because she practices Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Zheng Yufang, also known as Zheng Lihui, was arrested at work on April 17, 2026. The police raided her home and confiscated all items related to Falun Gong. They said a residential security guard reported her for distributing Falun Gong materials on April 15. The guard took photos of her electric motorcycle’s license plate, and the police tracked her down based on the registration record.
Ms. Zheng’s family hired a lawyer for her. However, the Songshan District Police Department and the Songshan District Detention Center repeatedly denied the lawyer’s requests to visit her.
The police submitted Ms. Zheng’s case to the Songshan District Procuratorate in early May. She is now facing indictment.
