(Minghui.org) A woman in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, was recently sentenced to four years for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Gu Hongying was arrested at home on the evening of November 4, 2025, by officers from the Dongcheng Police Station. They confiscated her computer and printer. She was taken to the Criminal Investigation Team of the Economic Development Zone for detention the next morning. At noon that day, officers Xiu Junguang and Zhang Yong of the Dongcheng Police Station broke into the home of her sister-in-law, Ms. Xu Ruixia, and took Ms. Xu to the police station.
The police collected Ms. Xu’s blood sample, fingerprints, palm prints, and hair sample, as well as recording her voice and capturing her iris images. She was released hours later.
Ms. Gu was transferred to the Liangshui Town Detention Center on November 6, and the police issued an “Arrest Notice” to her family.
The police later submitted Ms. Gu’s case to the Dongchangfu District Procuratorate. Prosecutor Wang Yuxin indicted her and moved her case to the Dongchangfu District Court.
Ms. Gu stood trial on June 17, 2026. Her lawyer entered a not guilty plea for her. Judge Zhai Juan sentenced her to four years with a 4,000-yuan fine at an unknown time.
