(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Cong Wei on Hunger Strike in Prison
Mr. Cong Wei was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. Despite being found to have dangerously high blood pressure and diabetes, he was admitted to the Nanguanling Prison on March 12, 2025, and then transferred to Dalian City Prison on March 25, 2025.
In March and April of 2026, Mr. Cong’s family went to visit him in prison but were denied both times. In July 2026, he was placed in solitary confinement for 15 days for “resisting rehabilitation.” He began a hunger strike to protest, and he is now emaciated.
2. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cheng Missing
Ms. Cheng, first name unknown, around 45, has gone missing since early August 2026. Her apartment was ransacked. Her family suspected that she was arrested by the Lanshan District Domestic Security Division officers.
3. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Xiaohui Faces Indictment
Ms. Liu Xiaohui was arrested by the Baohuajie Police Station officers on July 14, 2026. Her Falun Gong books and informational materials were confiscated. The police has submitted her case to the local procuratorate.
4. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhen Mingfeng Arrested
Ms. Zhen Mingfeng, in her 80s, was arrested in a street market on the morning of July 16, 2026. She was taken to the Gucheng Police Station. The police tried to collect her fingerprints but were unsuccessful. Due to her poor health, she was denied admission by the local detention center and released at night.
5. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Fu Wenjie’s Appeal Denied
Ms. Fu Wenjie was sentenced to 5.5 years and fined 10,000 yuan by the Linghai City Court on December 4, 2025. She is being held at the Fourth Division of Liaoning Province Second Women’s Prison. Her appeal with the Liaoning Province High Court was denied in early August 2026.
6. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gong Chengge Detained
Ms. Gong Chengge, a former middle school teacher, was arrested on July 20, 2026. His home was ransacked. He was given 12 days of administrative detention and put under criminal detention.
7. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Pan Yingchun Detained
Ms. Pan Yingchun was arrested in mid-July 2026. The police searched her home and confiscated her laptop and other personal items. She is being held at the Yantai City Detention Center.
8. [Beijing] Wang Xinghua Detained
Wang Xinghua, gender unknown, was arrested in the Yukou Street Market on July 14, 2026, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Wang is being held at the Pinggu District Detention Center.
9. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wei Haiyun Arrested
Ms. Wei Haiyun was arrested at her mother’s home in June 2026. She started a hunger strike to protest and was sent to an intensive care unit at a local hospital.
10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yang Xiaoshui Detained
Mr. Yang Xiaoshui was arrested on July 24, 2026, by officers from the Kaiping District Police Station. He is being held at the Tangshan City First Detention Center.
11. [Wu’an City, Hebei Province] Liu Haiye Detained
Liu Haiye, gender unknown, was arrested at home by three officers from the Yangyi Town Police Station on June 17, 2026, after being reported for talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on a bus. Liu was given ten days of administrative detention.
12. [Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xie Xianghe Detained
Mr. Xie Xianghe was arrested on July 29, 2026, by Jiangmen Police Department officers. They searched his place and confiscated his Falun Gong books, radios, and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. He is being held at the Jiangmen City Detention Center.
13. [Chongqing] Mr. Li Chunyuan Sentenced
Mr. Li Chunyuan, 78, was sentenced to 16 months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan by the Liangjiang District Court on July 29, 2026. He is preparing to appeal the verdict.
