(Minghui.org) A 64-year-old woman in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, was sentenced to 15 months in late July 2026 because she practices Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.

Ms. Wan Taoying

Ms. Wan Taoying, born in March 1962, was arrested at her home on August 5, 2025, and put in the Fuzhou City Second Detention Center. The Minqing County Procuratorate indicted her at an unknown time.

The Minqing County Court sentenced Ms. Wan to 15 months in late July 2026 after two hearings. Details of her trial remain unknown. She is currently held at the Fuzhou City Second Detention Center.

This is not the first time Ms. Wan, from Jinxian County, Jiangxi Province, has been targeted for her faith. While she still lived in Jiangxi, she served a 1.5-year forced labor term (March 2009 – September 2010) and two prison terms (April 2013 – April 2016 & November 2021 – August 2022). Ms. Wan completed her second prison term on August 25, 2022. She later moved to Fujian Province, only to be arrested there and given a third prison term.
