(Minghui.org) Yang Dongchuan, the newly appointed chief of the Shijiazhuang City Police Department in Hebei Province, issued an order to intensify the persecution of local Falun Gong practitioners. From August 25 to September 4, 2026, more than 50 practitioners were harassed in just 11 days. Several remain detained at the time of this report.
Gaocheng District: 17 Harassed and 1 Detained
On August 29, several officers from the Nanying Town Police Station harassed a practitioner whose name is unknown. They took photographed her, and officer said his surname was Zhang.
On the morning of August 31, six officers from the Nanying Town Police Station raided Ms. Deng Meijuan’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and other items. They ordered her to write a statement to renounce Falun Gong. She refused and was given ten days of detention.
On September 1, officers from Xing’an Town Police Station raided the home of a practitioner whose name is unknown. When her daughter-in-law, who lives with her, photographed the raid the police grabbed her phone and deleted the photo. They also searched the younger woman’s room.
On the morning of September 1, two officers from Gangshang Town Police Station, led by vice village secretary Guo Ruifang, harassed Ms. Zheng Shujun and three other local practitioners whose names are unknown. The police raided each practitioner’s home and photographed every room. They also confiscated Ms. Zheng’s Falun Gong books.
Around September 2, two officers from the Gangshang Town Police Station harassed Mr. Li Zhenjiang, Ms. Shi Lanzun, Ms. Li Zhixiu, and Ms. Xia Shufen.
On the afternoon of September 2, three officers from the Lianzhou Town Police Station showed up at the home of a practitioner whose names is unknown. His door was closed, and they left. At 9 p.m., a plainclothes officer pulled up in an unmarked car and knocked on his door again. The Nanshangzhuang Village Committee staffers accompanied the police in both harassment episodes.
In early September, officers from the Chengguan Town Police Station harassed Ms. Hong Jun, Ms. Rong Xiu, and four other practitioners whose names are unknown.
Chang’an District: 13 Harassed, 1 Detained, and One Whose Status Is UnknownOn the morning of August 28, officers from the Gaoying Police Station and staffers from the Xigucheng Security Committee harassed Mr. Yin Ruizhen, in her 70s, at her home under the pretext of “offering her assistance.”
Between August 31 and September 1, witnesses saw a man (around 30 years old) who identified himself as a staffer of the Gaoying Neighborhood Committee taking photos near the home of Mr. Yang Miao.
On August 31, Mr. Yang Huijun, 50, was arrested. His family reported that the police confiscated his computer and other items. His current detention location is unknown.
On September 1, officers from the Jianbei Police Station and staffers from the neighborhood committee harassed a practitioner in her 90s at her 24th-floor apartment unit. Her family stopped the police from taking pictures of her. The police threatened to return every month. Her family replied they’d report the police to relevant agencies.
Around 3 p.m. on September 1, Ren Min and two other officers from the Hedong Police Station, as well as a neighborhood committee member, harassed Ms. Zhou, who is 87. When they attempted to take pictures of her, she stopped them.
On September 1, officers from the Yucai Street Police Station harassed a practitioner whose name is unknown.
On September 2, officers from the Shengli North Street Police Station raided the home of a practitioner who works at a local fertilizer plant.
On September 2, officers from Jianbei Police Station went to the home of a practitioner whose name is unknown. After being refused entry, they threatened to come back.
On September 2, two officers from the Hedong Police Station knocked on Ms. Lu Fuying’s door. Her family said she was not there.
On the afternoon of September 2, Zhang Zhuang, an employee of Taoyuan Group, led two officers (one with badge number 006192 from the Hebei Provincial Public Security Bureau and the other with badge number 016439 from the Shijiazhuang Police Department), harassed Ms. Lu Guixia at her clothing store. When she said she’d photograph them, they left.
Around September 2 or 3, officers from the Shengli North Street Police Station harassed a practitioner living in the Shifang Community.
On September 3, officers from the Gaoying Police Station raided Ms. Zhang Shuling’s home and gave her 14 days of detention.
On September 4, officers from the Qingyuan Street Police Station harassed Ms. Tan Qiongqiong.
Around 11:40 a.m. on September 4, Ms. Zhang Jianying heard loud knocks on her door. Someone claimed to be from the neighborhood committee and later changed to the Xizhaotong Police Station. She refused to open the door and saw five black-clad men when she looked through the peephole. Some of them had police body-cams with them. She asked for their badge numbers and names. While she was looking for a pen to write down the info, they went downstairs. It is unclear how much longer they lingered at her apartment building before they left.
Also in early September, an officer from the Tangu Police Station called Mr. Wang Bingcheng, and ordered him to report to the police. He refused to comply.
Luquan District: 2 Detained
On August 25, Mr. Wang Huiwen was arrested by officers from the Economic Developement Zone Police Station. He is held at the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center.
On the night of August 30, Ms. Wu Jinhong was arrested by officers from the same police station. They confiscated her printer and Falun Gong books. She was given three days of detention because she was reported for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She was put in the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center the next day. She is still detained as of September 9.
Yuhua District: 4 Harassed
On the morning of September 1, a male police officer from Xing’an Police Station, along with auxiliary officer Fan Yupan and members of the Xiaoxizhang Village Committee, harassed Ms. Feng Fengxin at her home. They photographed her and her home. They also made video recordings of every room.
On the morning of September 2, officers Zhang Xingjie and Fan Yupan from the Xing’an Police Station, along with Zhang Yaobing from the village committee, harassed, photographed, and videotaped Mr. Gao Suqin and Mr. Li Baorong at their respective homes.
On the evening of September 2, two male police officers from the Xing’an Police Station, as well as auxiliary officer Fan, harassed Ms. Zhao Jinxian at her home.
High-tech Development Zone: 4 Harassed
On the afternoon of August 28, two officers from the Xiangjiang Avenue Police Station raided the homes of Ms. Hu Xin’gai and Ms. Zhang Xiuai. Both of them were detained. Ms. Hu’s daughter managed to get her released. Ms. Zhang’s status is unknown.
In late August, officers from the High-tech Development Zone Police Department harassed two elderly practitioners whose names are unknown.
Xinhua District: 3 Harassed and 1 Detained
At 8:30 a.m. on August 31, five officers, including Zhang Huipeng and Gao Chunmeng, from the Zhaotuo Road Police Station, raided Ms. Li Wensu’s home.
The police targeted her because she was reported on August 11 for writing “Falun Dafa is good” on a light pole. They gave her ten days of administrative detention at the time but had to release her after she was deemed unfit for detention. Zhang and Gao showed up at her home on August 20 and ordered her to sign statements to renounce Falun Gong. She refused and exhibited some illness symptoms. The two officers left but returned on August 31 to harass her again.
On the morning of September 3, instructor Zhou from the Hezuo Road Police Station, and local officer Liu Chang, harassed Ms. Wu Yanhong and two other practitioners whose names are unknown.
Qiaoxi District: 4 Harassed
Around 11 a.m. on September 2 or 3, two male police officers from the Yuandong Police Station and a woman from the local neighborhood committee harassed 82-year-old Ms. Zhang Gailing at her home.
Around 1 p.m. on September 2, officer Fan Qintao from the Hongqi Police Station, along with an auxiliary officer, broke into Mr. Deng Ren’s home. They recorded the encounter with their bodycams.
Around 11 a.m. on September 3, nine officers from the Hongqi Police Station, including Li Zhonghua, raided Ms. Zhang Na’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books. They held her at their police station until 9 p.m.
Around 11 a.m. on September 4, Xie Zhi and another officer from the Changxing Police Station knocked on Mr. Wei Tianchen’s door. He refused to let them in.
