On January 16, 2002, the Changchun City Nanguan District Court planned to conduct an illegal trial to sentence the practitioners. Many Dafa practitioners arrived at the courthouse, and all held strong righteous thoughts. Crowds of practitioners gathered in the courtroom, and Dafa materials were pasted everywhere in the hallway and on the doors. The evil forces were afraid of public opinion, so in the end, the trial was cancelled before it even started.

City bylaws will not be manipulated by special interests to stifle the basic freedoms of Ottawa residents, Coun. Alex Munter insisted yesterday.
Munter was responding to Albert Tang, a representative of the Federation of Ottawa-Carleton Chinese Organizations, who appeared at the transportation and transit committee trying to prevent renewal of a special event bylaw exemption for the Falun Gong group.

5th, 2002, police authorities arrested Mrs. Xiong Wei,
age 31, a former student at Berlin's Technical University as she
distributed Falun Gong truth-clarifying handouts to passers-by,
detailing the persecution of Falun Gong in China. According to
information received from her family, shortly following the arrest,
police officers searched her home, looking for additional Falun
Gong informational materials. Police personnel did find more flyers

(Clearwisdom.net) Gu Chenghai, male, 46 years old, was a resident in Xiahuayuan City, Hebei Province. He began to practice Falun Gong in 1996. Because he bravely validated Dafa amidst the persecution of Falun Gong, he was arrested and thrown into jail. While in detention, he was subjected to various tortures.
