
In a normal society, the appeal system provides citizens with a way to resolve their issues and protect their rights. Yet in China today, petitioners are subjected to violent interference and harassment. In fact, government-sanctioned sabotage of an appellant's home or business is quite normal. Such is the "rule of law" proclaimed by China's communist regime.
