(Minghui.org) Ms. Chen Huiran (陈会然), 59, was arrested twice during May and August 2014. She has been detained in the Baoding City Detention Center in Hebei since her latest arrest on August 13. Her arrest has been approved by the local procuratorate. She is facing charges.
Local domestic security police didn't give up after she was released on June 12 due to insufficient evidence. They had arrested her for the first time on May 14.
They then called Ms. Chen in August and tricked her into visiting the police department. She was arrested and has been detained ever since.
Her first arrest in May occurred at her home. She heard a knock at the door, and a voice outside claimed to be her neighbor from upstairs. She opened the door, and eight plainclothes officers from the Henan District Domestic Security Division rushed in. They ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings.
Ms. Chen used to suffer many illnesses. She had such severe heart disease that her heart stopped beating three to four times every minute. She had gallstones, cholecystitis, and long-term insomnia. She visited many big hospitals in Beijing and took a lot of pills, but saw no improvement.
She began to practice Falun Gong in January 1998, and all of her illnesses disappeared three months later. She became healthy again. She now tells others about the benefits of the practice and raises awareness about the persecution.
