(Minghui.org) The arrest of seven Falun Gong practitioners and four well-known human rights lawyers for protesting against a “black jail” in Heilongjiang Province on March 21 drew the attention of the international society.
After being strongly condemned both in China and abroad, the authorities released the lawyers and the three practitioners. However, practitioners Ms. Wang Yanxin, Ms. Meng Fanli, Ms. Li Guifang and Mr. Shi Mengwen are still detained and their whereabouts are unknown. We now ask that the world pay more attention to this urgent situation and help free these practitioners.
During their protest, the practitioners and lawyers demanded Qinglongshan Brianwashing Center release all the practitioners detained there. After they were arrested, both the lawyers and practitioners were severely tortured.
The three practitioners were on the verge of death. Lawyer Mr. Zhang Junjie and Mr. Tang Jitian both suffered broken ribs. Mr. Tang's teeth were shattered. They were threatened with “having their kidneys removed” or “being buried while still alive.”
Upon learning about this incident, more human rights lawyers and activists, as well as Falun Gong practitioners' family members went to Jiansanjiang and demanded the authorities release the eleven arrested people. However, instead of releasing them, the people who came to support them were also arrested, detained and tortured.
