(Minghui.org) At around 10 a.m. on April 27, 2016, I arrived at a T-intersection on my electric scooter. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a big truck approaching. I didn’t expect the truck to make a right turn since it was illegal, so I didn’t yield and continued driving straight ahead.
Suddenly, I was hit from behind, and the bike and I were pushed over. I thought, “The truck must have hit me. I won't seek compensation from the driver.” I quickly sat up and was about to stand up when I felt something scrape across my head. I was underneath the truck!
I tried to avoid the wheels on the right that were heading my way, but I couldn’t move. A large circular disc hit my forehead and I was sent flying. As a Dafa practitioner, I knew that I would be all right. I lay flat on my electric scooter and the truck dragged the scooter and me for several meters before it stopped. The tires rubbed against my ankle the entire way.
My left foot really hurt, but I quickly crawled out from under the truck. The driver stood there, shocked. I said to him, “It’s all right. I am free now. I won’t ask you to compensate me.”
He stood there, not saying a word. I said, “I practice Falun Gong. If not, I could have been killed.”
He finally came to his senses and said something.
When the police arrived, I told them, “I crawled out from under the truck. I’m fine. I practice Falun Gong. Please remember, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ to stay out of danger.”
The cops were surprised and agreed to say the phrases. I also helped them quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations. I asked them not to hold the driver responsible for the accident since he didn’t mean to hurt me.
An officer replied, “He made an illegal turn; this is a serious violation and he must be held responsible. Let’s get you to the hospital.”
Knowing that this was normal procedure for the police, I went along to the hospital.
On the way, I told the paramedic details about the accident. She was surprised, because paramedics deal with many accidents and she’d never seen anyone so calm and clearheaded. I clarified the truth about Dafa to her and helped her quit the CCP. I also gave her some Falun Dafa brochures. After several tests at the hospital, they said I had no broken bones, just a few minor scratches and abrasions on my left leg.
At the police station, the police asked me how I wanted to be compensated. I said, “It was nothing. He didn’t mean to hit me. I don’t want compensation.”
The officers were very surprised and moved by my attitude about the incident. An officer said, “We were all shocked. Since your electric scooter is totaled, we decided the driver should pay for a new scooter.”
I didn’t leave the police station until 5 p.m., due to the complicated procedures they had to follow. My left foot was swollen and very painful, but I tried to act normal. Out of courtesy, the driver gave me 1,000 yuan. I didn’t want him to pay for the scooter so I said to him, “I will not ask anything of you or disturb you. I will be fine.” I haven’t contacted him since.
My left calf turned purple. The abrasions were bleeding, and I couldn’t walk, so I had to sit on the floor. It took me an hour to get back and forth from the bathroom in my house.
I listened to Master Li Hongzhi’s lectures during this time. I thought, “Dafa practitioners must tell people the facts about Falun Dafa and awaken their conscience during this critical time. But how can I do that in this condition?” So I decided to make Dafa informational brochures and booklets until I could walk with no problem.
Within 48 hours and without any medication or treatment, I went from being immobilized to moving about with no problem. I realized that only by trusting fully in Dafa and Master and doing what Master asks is Master always beside you.
Within two months, I was back to normal and able to pick up heavy boxes.
