(Minghui.org) The authorities in Yuncheng County, Heze City, Shandong Province, dispatched a large police force to raid the homes of over 30 Falun Gong practitioners on July 10 and 11, 2024. More than ten were arrested and nine of them are facing trial now.

The nine practitioners, including Mr. Zhang Pingxin, his wife Ms. Zhu Lingdian, Mr. Cui Jun, Ms. Chen Chengge, Ms. Xia Ruiying, Ms. Jia Suqin, Ms. Hou Yuchun, Ms. Fan Airong and Ms. Chen Fengjuan, were arrested on July 10 while studying the Falun Gong teachings together. The police ransacked their respective homes and confiscated their Falun Gong books, informational materials, computers, and printers.

Ms. Chen Chengge, Ms. Chen Fengjuan and Ms. Hou are now held at the Heze City Detention Center and the others are at a detention facility in nearby Juancheng County. They have been indicted and their cases are now with a local court.

At least six of the practitioners were fined by the police. Ms. Xia was forced to pay 20,000 yuan. Ms. Hou, Mr. Cui and Ms. Fan were extorted 30,000 yuan each. Only Ms. Fan has received a full refund so far. Mr. Zhang and Ms. Zhu were forced to pay between 50,000 and 90,000 yuan.

This isn’t the first time that some of these practitioners have been targeted for their faith.

Ms. Zhu was previously arrested on April 22, 2016 and later sentenced to one year and nine months.

Mr. Cui was arrested in October 2005 and on September 27, 2006. He was given either a one-year or a two-year labor camp term after the 2006 arrest. He was arrested again on April 21, 2016, detained for a month and extorted 40,000 yuan.

Ms. Chen Chengge was arrested on March 23, 2016 and detained for ten days.

Ms. Xia, in her 70s, was arrested on May 8, 2015 after being reported for distributing Falun Gong materials.
