(Minghui.org) Minghui.org learned recently that two sisters in Changsha City, Hunan Province were sentenced to prison in February 2024 for practicing Falun Gong and one of them started serving time in October 2024.
Ms. Li Guoli and Ms. Li Guoyuan, 61, were arrested at the latter’s home around 4 p.m. on February 22, 2022, by more than ten officers from the Tianxin District Police Department and Xinkaipu Police Station.
Both sisters were taken to the Changsha City Fourth Detention Center and released on bail three weeks later, after they developed medical conditions in custody.
During their court trial on February 26, 2024, Ms. Li Guoli was sentenced to one year and Ms. Li Guoyuan received one and a half years.
Due to Ms. Li Guoli’s high blood pressure, she was denied admission by the detention center and allowed to go home.
Ms. Li Guoyuan was taken back into custody on October 17, 2024 and transferred to the Hunan Provincial Prison Administration Bureau Sixth Detention Center on October 29. The authorities told her family that she had to pass certain prison admission exam before her prison transfer.
Ms. Li Guoli’s current status isn’t clear.
