(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Shi Guifen and Sun Yongjie Arrested
2. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Detained
3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Su Wenqing’s Home Ransacked
4. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hu Weihua and Her Husband Arrested
5. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ren Guilan’s Early Persecution
1. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Shi Guifen and Sun Yongjie Arrested
Ms. Shi Guifen from Jinshantun District of Yichun City was arrested in Sanya City, Hainan Province on November 19, 2024, for using paper bills printed with information about Falun Gong. She was issued an arrest warrant in Sanya City on January 7, 2025.
Sun Yongjie from Jinshantun District, a supermarket cashier, was arrested on the morning of December 4, 2024, after being reported for giving change with paper bills printed with information about Falun Gong. Sun’s home was ransacked. Sun was placed under official arrest on January 11, 2025.
2. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Detained
Three practitioners from Huangshi City, including Ms. Li Caihua, Ms. Li Ping, and Ms. Wang Chunhong, were arrested by officers from the Liurenba Police Station in Daye City and placed under 15-day detention in the Daye City Lockup. Instead of releasing them on January 9, 2025 as scheduled, the police transferred them to the Fenglieshan Detention Center in Huangshi City. The police threatened to keep them in custody if they didn’t provide information about other practitioners they had contact with.
3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Su Wenqing’s Home Ransacked
More than ten officers from the Linyuan Town Fourth Center Police Station broke into Ms. Su Wenqing’s home at 9:30 a.m. on December 20, 2024. They ransacked Ms. Su’s home and confiscated all of her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a media players, and calendars.
4. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hu Weihua and Her Husband Arrested
Five plainclothes officers from the Fuyu County Domestic Security Division went to Ms. Hu Weihua’s store around 9 a.m. on January 6, 2025. They confiscated personal belongings and arrested her. Her husband was also arrested shortly after and taken to the police department.
Intimidated by the police, Ms. Hu’s husband suddenly collapsed to the ground in the police station. The police released the couple around 4 p.m.
5. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ren Guilan’s Early Persecution
Ms. Ren Guilan, of Dongzhou District, Fushun City, was arrested by officers from the Laohutai Police Station in September 1999 when studying Falun Gong teachings with other practitioners. She was detained for 15 days and fined 500 yuan.
Ms. Ren went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing on December 20, 2000 to appeal. She was arrested for holding a banner and calling out “Falun Dafa is good!” As she refused to answer the police’s questions, they slapped her in the face and shocked her with electric batons. Her face and neck were covered with black blisters.
Ms. Ren was later taken back to Fushun by officers from the Laohutai Police Station. After seven days at a lockup, she was given three years in the Wujiabao Forced Labor Camp. The guards deprived Ms. Ren of sleep and forced her to squat against the wall with her hands behind her back. Unable to endure the physical and mental torture, she was forced to renounce Falun Gong against her will. She was released eight months later.
