(Minghui.org) I live in a county in northern Hunan Province. Whenever I read experience-sharing articles on Minghui, I feel encouraged, but also realize how far I am from meeting the requirements of Dafa. Sometimes, I even doubt whether I am truly qualified to be called a Falun Dafa practitioner. I often wish that there were other practitioners around me who could diligently do the three things along with me.
However, the practitioners around me fall short of this ideal. Some practitioners have given up on the practice or even turned to Buddhism; some only practice at home but do not participate in truth-clarification activities; others barely study the Fa. The number of Fa study groups has dwindled, and in the remaining ones, practitioners merely read the Fa and leave without any discussion—let alone cooperating to clarify the truth and save people. I feel that this state is not right.
I understand that as a Dafa practitioner, I must unconditionally look inward. I have realized that many practitioners, including myself, face several key problems that prevent us from taking cultivation seriously. I would like to share my thoughts in the hope that we can all improve together.
Lack of Complete Faith in Master and Dafa
Many have practiced for years but still only understand Dafa superficially. They are hindered by acquired notions and fail to recognize that Dafa is the fundamental source of all lives in the universe, from the macroscopic to the microscopic level. Because of this, they do not completely believe in Master and Dafa.
Take me as an example. When I first began practicing, I personally experienced the rotation of Falun in my abdomen and the opening of my third eye. However, my thought karma and the atheistic concepts ingrained in me through the Chinese Communist Party’s education system prevented me from truly believing in Master and Dafa for a long time.
Not Knowing What True Cultivation Is
Some practitioners do not understand what genuine cultivation is and are unwilling to cultivate from within. Many view their physical bodies in this human world as their true selves. They have not fully grasped the section “Genuinely Guiding People Toward High Levels” in the first lecture of Zhuan Falun. They fail to realize that their main spirit in another dimension is their real self—the one that descended to the human world to obtain the Fa and save the beings they represent. They have forgotten that the purpose of life is to return to their true origins.
Instead, many practitioners hold onto fundamental attachments, such as seeking to eliminate illness or improve their lives. They never consider genuinely improving themselves according to the Fa and becoming one with Dafa.
Failing to Truly Transform Ourselves
Master said in “What is Cultivation Practice” (Essentials for Further Advancement):
“Only when you are studying the Fa and cultivating your heart and mind in addition to the means of reaching Consummation—the exercises, and truly changing yourself fundamentally while improving your xinxing and elevating your level—can it be called true cultivation practice.”
Many practitioners, including myself, have not yet met Master’s requirement for true cultivation. We struggle to unconditionally look inward in our daily lives and instead carry out the three things from a human perspective.
I feel deeply ashamed when I think of Master’s immense compassion and salvation. I am determined to follow the Fa at all times, truly transform myself from within, and save more people.
