(Minghui.org) Ms. Teng Qinhua, 71, who lives in Laizhou City, Shandong Province, was admitted to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison on April 20, 2026, because she practices Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.

Ms. Teng’s prison sentence stemmed from her initial arrest on May 8, 2023. She was released on bail hours later and sentenced to three years on May 20, 2024. Due to health reasons, she was allowed to serve time at home. Starting in October 2024, she was ordered to take a picture of herself at home every day and text it to the Chenggang Police Station. She was also ordered to report to the police every week to sign some paperwork.

On December 4, 2025, Ms. Teng, accompanied by her daughter, reported to the Laizhou City Police Department as scheduled. She gave the police a flash drive containing information about Falun Gong, trying to persuade them to stop participating in the persecution. They searched her and arrested her. She was taken to the Yantai City Detention Center. Yantai oversees Laizhou City.

Ms. Teng was transferred to the prison on April 20, 2026. It is unclear whether she was ordered to re-serve the entirety of her three-year term starting from her latest arrest date (December 4, 2025) or just complete the last five months of her term (since she already served two years and seven months outside of prison).
